A sell able information product on the internet is usually called an eBook which is short for an electronic book. There are other forms of digital media that you can sell on the internet like audio recordings, video, articles, and reports just to name a few. The best thing about making money by selling a digital piece of information on the internet is the fact that you have an unlimited supply. You will never run out of the product because it is just copied and reproduced.
Since there are an unlimited amount of people in different niches around the world whom are constantly seeking information, we can take advantage of this by creating an information product and selling it to these people online. In order to do this we must first identify a hungry niche that is willing to pay money for information.
To get some general ideas for your first information product you are going to have to do some research and some digging first. Check out some places like Amazon.com to see what is selling on their website. Amazon.com has a huge marketplace full of physical books for sale. The best part about using their website is that we can leverage the website to tell us what niches are hot and even dig down into some niches to find some real small and uncompetitive niches. They list every book in terms of niche and which are the hottest sellers. So you can see exactly where people are spending money.
Once we have a few ideas as to what we may want to write about, then we need to use some keyword tools to see just how popular that niche is. If the tool shows us that it is getting plenty of searches and there is not too much competition, then we may have found a profitable niche.
The next step is to get the information product created. You can either do this yourself or hire someone to do it for you. My advice is to do the latter. It will take a lot of time to write a quality book and you can easily make the money back that you spend once your book starts selling.
The research is the most important part though. Don't underestimate this and make sure you locate the right niche first.
